Chinese Qing Dynasty Furniture
The majority of our antique furniture is from the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) or later. The furniture from this period often features intricate carvings and embellishments, creating sumptuous pieces that tell a story. With dramatic designs and unmatched craftsmanship, antique Qing Dynasty furniture can make a uniquely beautiful addition to the modern home.
We do occasionally source late Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) furniture, so keep an eye on our new arrivals if this is something you’re after.

Hardwoods in Chinese furniture are highly valued and were reserved for the homes of the wealthy. Hardwoods include various rosewoods; huali (花梨木), hongmu (花梨木), tieli mu (鐵力木). Other hardwoods are nanmu (楠木), oak (zuomu 柞木) . The most valuable hardwoods are huanghuali (a specific rosewood 黄花梨), zitan (紫檀) & chicken wing (jichimu 鸡翅木).
Chinese carpenters work each wood and sure each piece is embued with a unique personality while ensuring they remain highly functional, making them lovely centrepieces for contemporary spaces.
We work hard to curate a diverse selection of antique furniture that includes only the best quality pieces. All of our Chinese furniture items have guaranteed authenticity and are genuine antiques (where dated).
